Once I was told by a true Baiano in Salvador, that “Baianos aren’t born, they debut in life!”. Without shyness or retreat, the peculiar talent of people from Bahía, their pride and courage was my main inspiration for this painting. “What does the Baiana have?…” unveils itself strong in their desires, in the way they crave only the present, their gift and how they are ready to build on all their circumstances, qualities or defects, without any constraint. This painting wants to uncover the universe armed only with itself and it’s own portrait before the world.
